Wild hair!

 The cold blonds...
The wavy...
 The side part...
 The buns...
 The braids...
The ponytails...
The bouffants...
 The coloured...
All though working with fashion, I often see myself quite oblivious when it comes to seasonal trends.
Maybe it's because I have my mind set on a signature taste that drives me away from all the back and forths fashion tends to do every six months. I'm always on to the magazines like a junkie but when I get to the "Make up & Hair" sections, I usually stop and go do something else. I blame the unfortunate fact that I am completely useless with a comb and/or a concealer in my hands.
Besides having no natural talent, life with a small child doesn't give much space or motivation to go for the more elaborated details. So I usually "wash and go"!
But this time, this Autumn, It's a different story!
I'm finally inspired by all the trends. Most likely, because it gives so much gap in between all the possibilities. Love the idea of very undone going hand in hand with the very sleek.
The Bun, my favourite, is there, in every shape and height. The crazy colours, and the side-parted sleek ponytail (who helps giving me confidence and a little feeling of importance when much needed).
Possibilities are many and for every style, time available or just even simple patience.
Autumn Hair I love you and will take you with me straight into the winter!

Bold and Beautiful!

Jean Charles de Castelbajac A/W 2012 - Paris Fashion Week.
Talking High Fashion,
Today I had to post this pictures of Jean Charles de Castelbajac from Paris Fashion Week 2012.
I love everything about it. The structure, the prints, the styling, the make up... I love all of it! As usual, Castelbajac comes in very bold with it's architectural shapes and fearless prints and colors while keeping it always very feminine and elegant.
For us here at the colder side of the Atlantic, the bits of Gothic inspiration comes very handy and effortless.
And those prints... Awww, those prints... just can't get enough of it! (Did someone else got a bit of a Marimekko feeling?! ) :D

Custom made from Brazil

Custom made and Environmentally developed handcrafted shoes from Brazil. MUTTA SHOES

It funny but if I didn't know, and someone would tell me it's Finnish design, I would believe it! There is something very Scandinavian about this Sneakers's design all though some of the models carry a very statemental prints, their design is very simple in itself. And the concept behind it is so appealing, the development is generated very closely with the client, making a shoe that will translate a personality. A perfect match! If I may say!

Words from the designer - "
Mutta is an independent project of crafted footwear founded in 2010, created by the designer Matheus Simões Pires Costa of Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The idea of creating Mutta grew out of the difficulty of finding custom models with superior quality.

Mutta Footwear is created in a series of workshops by experienced artisans.
Mutta's creations are focused on quality, originality and uniqueness,  “Something classic and crafted with an experimental feel” as Matheus describes.

Mutta's clients belong to a group of creative minds seeking the same goals and ideals as the brand. Mutta is not afraid to try. It promotes a change on the way the user relates to its footwear. The creation is made intertwined with the customer, generating an innovative result.
“It was a natural process. Once I was the one making it, I was able to give people the opportunity of changing the final outcome and that made they want it even more, not only because of the product, because of this involvement on its development”
Products are seen as something completely distant, immutable. Mutta's proposal is exactly the opposite, it seeks the approximation.

Fernando Korpi

Welcome colors!
F/W 2010
All pics from his F/W collection 2011.

Last week we met Finnish designer Fernando Korpi for a quick chat and look through his latest productions.
I must say I was amazed by his style! Such a perfect combination of Streetwise, laid back pieces with the structural hint of botton shirts and modern graphic prints... All that combined with a very Northern Finnish inspiration.
So suddle, easy going and yet sharp and stylish!
Good thing husband's Bday is knocking the door and so is Autumn (unfortunately) so is great time for a new hoodie.

*And thank you and lovely girlfriend for such nice time and cutest tote bags! WE LOVE IT!

"To describe Henrik Vibskov as merely a fashion designer would be a vast understatement. As a multifaceted artist, passionate musician, innovative stage designer, and head of his trendsetting eponymous fashion label he is at the vanguard of a new generation of creative multi-taskers. As is indicative of this new type of renaissance designer, Vibskov has succeeded in establishing a unique signature style that is recognizable across all of the diverse disciplines in which he works."

Text from Gestalten.com - I simply couldn't have said it better.

But yes, I got to listen to his speech on Helsinki Fashion Sumit/2012 and he was super... interesting and funny to say the least.
